Hartselle Bass Club opens season

The Hartselle Bassmaster Bass Club held the first tournament of the new 2011-2012 on Nov. 12 at Wilson Lake out of Safety Harbor.

Seventeen anglers participating in the cool 6 a.m. blast-off on a beautiful Saturday morning. Overall, the conditions proved tougher than expected with few bites and high winds during most of the day. Congratulations to the team of Hank Murphree and Tim Harrison, and to John Sims who tied for the day with seven pounds of Wilson Lake bass. Murphee and Harrison also won the big fish pot for the day with a 2.69-pound largemouth bass. We would also like to thank Bobby Knowlton, Terry Keller, and Tye Meadows for participating as guests for the day and fishing with one of our club members.
