Funeral for Sandra Dye Coots, 51, of Eva will be Fri., Dec. 23, at 1 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev Joey Coots officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing.

Visitation will be Thur., Dec. 22, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Burial will be in Etha Cemetery.

Mrs. Coots died Wed., Dec. 21, 2011, at her residence with her family at her side after a courageous two-year battle with breast cancer. She was born Jan. 30, 1960, in Madison County to Jerry Colbie Dye and Melba Strickland Dye.

She was a Christian and a member of Journey Church. She never wavered in her faith and was a strong woman of God. Her life was a testimony of living for Christ. Even as she fought the last battle, she witnessed through her ”Caring Bridge” to thousands. She never stopped believing.

She graduated from A.P. Brewer High School and spent several years at First American Bank in Decatur as a branch manager. Most recently she was employed with BBVA Compass Bank as branch manager. She earned many awards and commendations as a result of her dedication and hard work

Her love for her family was first after her love for Christ. She loved to travel with her family, especially to the beach. She was a beloved daughter, wife, mom, sister and “mi mi” and she will be forever missed.

She was preceded in death by her father.

She is survived by her husband, Randy Coots of Eva; a son, Austin Coots of Eva; a daughter, Kara Johnson and husband Andy of Somerville; her mother, Melba Strickland Dye of Eva; three sisters, Linda Dye Beasley of Guntersville, Laurie Kay Dye of Athens and Pam Dye Tournaud of Kentucky; and a surviving grandchild, Ella Grace Johnson.
