Funeral for John Robert Everett, 86, of Somerville was Tuesday, March 21, at 1 p.m. at Hartselle Heritage Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Ralph McCollum and Kenny Mitchell officiating.
Burial was in Huntsville Memory Gardens Cemetery.
Mr. Everett died died Saturday, March 18, 2006, at Summerford Nursing Home. He was born June 12, 1919, in Missouri to Carl S. Everett and Vanetti Jane Depreast Everett. He was a member of Blue Springs Baptist Church. He served five years in the U.S. Army during World War II.
In the 1950s, Mr. Everett worked on the team with Dr. Wernher von Braun as a machinist.
He later owned his own business until retiring in 1974. He enjoyed fishing and flying. For the past six years, he had resided at Summerford Nursing Home.
He is survived by his daughter, Jane Benefield and husband Verlie of Somerville; five grandchildren, Sandra Glass, Linda Laten, Mike Norman, Ricky Norman and Kenny Benefield; and four great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were C. W. Gibson and Lynn Goree.
