A graveside service for Mary Elizabeth Walker, 91, of Hartselle was Friday, Jan. 20, at 2 p.m. at Hartselle City Cemetery with the Rev. Bill Allen officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing.
Mrs. Walker died Tuesday, Jan. 17, 2006, at Decatur General Hospital. She was born Dec. 21, 1914, in Jefferson County to Rufus and Lula Mae Montgomery. She was a member of Forrest Chapel United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Noojin Walker; a daughter, Patsy Walker Varner; and a grandson, Robert B. Puckett III. She is survived by a son, Dr. Charles Noojin Walker Jr. of Pensacola, Fla.; a daughter, Montye Walker Puckett of Hartselle; eight grandchildren, Charles Noojin Walker III, Rosemary Alverez, Dorothy "Beth" Roberts, Elizabeth Callahan, Leah Miller, Charles Noojin Puckett, Preston Wayne Puckett and Douglas Wayne Varner Jr; 10 great-grandchildren, Hilary Crawford, Micahl Noojin Puckett, Gabriel Alverez, Christieanne Alverez, Ashley Callahan, Brittany Callahn, Michelle Clark, Amy Blevins, Brandon Blevins and Jeremy Blevins; and nine great-great-grandchildren.
