Most local teams kick off hoops season next week

It's time to put up those football cleats and pads and take out those sneakers and shorts.
All six area high schools open their varsity basketball seasons over the next few days.
Hartselle opens its season at home Nov. 15 against Austin. The girls' varsity is scheduled to tip-off at 6:30 p.m. and boys' varsity will follow at 8 p.m.
Brewer's season opened Nov. 8 against Hazel Green on the road, but the Patriots' first home match is against Decatur on Nov. 15. Girls tip off at 6 p.m. and the boys are scheduled to start at 7:30 p.m.
Danville's varsity season and home opener is against Hatton on Nov. 15. The B-team will start at 5 p.m. with girls' varsity and boys varsity to follow.
The Priceville Bulldogs tip off their season with a road contest against Vinemont on Nov. 10. The home opener is Nov. 15 against Saint Bernard. Ninth-grade girls and junior varsity boys start at 4 p.m. with the varsity girls' and varsity boys' game shortly after.
Falkville's basketball season gets underway on Nov. 10 with a road tilt against Mount Hope.
The home opener is Nov. 18 against Danville. The ninth-grade team starts at 5 p.m. with the girls and boys varsity teams following.
Bethel Baptist, who will only field a boys' team this year, opens its season on Nov. 15 with a road match against Liberty Baptist.
The Bobcats' first home game is Nov. 22 against Beth Haven Baptist with tip-off scheduled for 5:30 p.m.
