Funeral for Paul Smith Jr., 58, of Plano, Ill., was Tuesday, Oct. 11, at 10:30 a.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Lee Waitman officiating.
Burial was in Center Cemetery in Lawrence County.
Mr. Smith died Wednesday, Oct. 5, 2005, in Brooklyn, Iowa. He was born Jan. 7, 1947, in Moulton to Paul Smith and Mabel Tanksley Smith. He married Ruby Weiss on Dec. 30, 1972 in Plano. He was a member of the Sunbeam Lodge #428 of Plano and Dukane Abate.
He was preceded in death by his father; three brothers, Bobby, Billy and Walker Smith; and a son-in-law, Mark Brisbin.
He is survived by his wife, Ruby Smith of Plano, Ill.; his mother, Mabel Smith of Danville; a daughter, Kelly Brisbin of Yorkville, Ill; three sons, William Casner and wife Stacie of Chenoa, Ill., Paul Smith, III of Tucson, Ariz. and David Smith of Danville; a sister, Peggy Smith and husband Ricky of Danville; two brothers, Ricky Smith and wife Lenetta of Decatur and Stevie Smith and wife Michelle of Brooklyn, Ark.; a sister-in-law, Kathy Smith of Plano, Ill.; 12 grandchildren; one great-grandson; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles; and his loving dog, Crackers.
Pallbearers were Billy Casner, Daryl Armstrong, Mike Jernagin, Greg Tanksley, Billy Smith and Danny Keltner.
