A graveside service for Helen Goodner Maxwell, 82, of Somerville will be Tues., Nov. 1, at 2 p.m. at Antioch United Methodist Church in Somerville with Peck Funeral Home directing.

Visitation will be Mon., Oct. 31, from 6-9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mrs. Maxwell died Sat, Oct. 29, 2011. She was born Oct. 15, 1929, in Morgan County to William Albert Goodner and Ruth Early Goodner. She was a member of Antioch United Methodist Church and was preceded in death by her husband, William Cohen Maxwell.

She is survived by two sons, Donald Maxwell and wife Susan of Rogersville and Rex Maxwell of Somerville; a daughter, Elaine Maxwell of Somerville; a sister, Reba Elders of Lacey’s Spring; a brother, Carl Goodner of Lacey’s Spring; seven grandchildren, Carrie Maxwell of Rogersville, Joe Maxwell and wife Kristy of Birmingham, Andrew Maxwell of Tuscumbia, Tony Fuqua of Somerville, Amy Fuqua of Hartselle, Bryan Maxwell and wife Michelle of Somerville and Leslie Maxwell of Priceville; and six great-grandchildren.

Sons and grandsons will be pallbearers.

The family thanks the nurses and staff at Summerford Nursing Home for their wonderful care of their mother and grandmother.
