Sept. 29, 1955 -Tommy Norwood has been named as the new manager of the Strand Theatre. Norwood has previously worked as a theatre projectionist.
Sept. 30, 1955 -The battle between the MCHS Tigers and Hanceville's football 11 ended in a scoreless tie tonight. The Tigers' foes still haven't been beaten or scored on this season. Don Cordar and Robert Mayfield were offensive and defensive standouts for MCHS.
Oct. 1, 1955 -Quite a few Hartselle residents made a trip to Decatur this morning to purchase their new 1956 auto tags. The color scheme for the license plates this year is yellow on black. Hunting and fishing licenses for the upcoming year were also issued initially today.
Oct. 1, 1955 -The Alabama Million Dollar band passed through here today on their way to Nashville where the Crimson Tide will play Vandy in a night game. (The Commodores won 21-6.)
Oct. 2, 1955 -Mr. and Mrs. John T. Kyle celebrated their golden wedding anniversary at their home on Corsbie Street this afternoon.

Oct. 4, 1955 -MCHS seniors traveled to the state fair in Birmingham today, courtesy of Wolverine Tube. Beulah Hester, their teacher, accompanied the students. They will be writing essays to be entered in a contest dealing with "What Industry Means to Alabama" during the next few weeks.
Oct. 4, 1955 -L. T. Wagnon, Ollie Camp, and J. C. Johnson are currently in Dothan attending a civic club convention.
Oct. 5, 1955 -Hartselle's large contingent of Auburn fans is delighted that their local alumni club is now bringing a film of the Tigers' football game played the previous Saturday to a venue for area viewing. Tonight the Auburn-Florida game film will be shown in the audiovisual room at Decatur High School.
