Hartselle swim team puts on impressive performance at state meet in Eufaula

Several members of the Hartselle Hurricanes swim team placed at the state meet in Eufaula the weekend of July 29-30. Ian Cummins was the team's best finisher, taking home second place in the 25-yard backstroke.
Jordan Bruner also took home a top-three finish for the Hurricanes, finishing in third place in the 50-yard freestyle. Other finishers of note for Hartselle were:
Girls events:
8-and-under – Tiffany Pittman, sixth in 25-yard butterfly, seventh in 25-yard breaststroke, eighth in 100-yard individual medley, ninth in 100-yard medley relay, 10th in 100-yard freestyle relay; Alexandra Williams, ninth in 100-yard medley relay, 10th in 100-yard freestyle relay, 15th in 100-yard IM; Mary Filiatrault, ninth in 100-yard medley relay, 10th in 100-yard freestyle relay, 11th in 25-yard breaststroke; Marissa Coley, ninth in 100-yard medley relay, 10th in 100-yard freestyle relay.
9/10-year-old – Jordan Bruner, third in 100-yard IM, fourth in 50-yard butterfly, fourth in 50-yard freestyle, 12th in 200-yard medley relay, 16th in 200-yard freestyle relay; Aubrey Eve, eighth in 50-yard breaststroke, 12th in 200-yard medley relay, 16th in 200-yard freestyle relay; Sarah Walker, 12th in 200-yard medley relay, 16th in 200-yard freestyle relay; Peyton Patterson, 12th in 200-yard medley relay, 16th in 200-yard freestyle relay.
11/12-year-old – Rachel Fredricks, 15th in 200-yard medley relay, 15th in 200-yard freestyle relay; Meaghan Arundel, 15th in 200-yard medley relay, 15th in 200-yard freestyle relay; Sarah Roark, 15th in 200-yard medley relay, 15th in 200-yard freestyle relay; Faith Vest, 10th in 50-yard backstroke, 15th in 200-yard medley relay, 15th in 200-yard freestyle relay.
13/14-year-old – Kayla Wilson, eighth in 200-yard medley relay, eighth in 200-yard freestyle relay, 15th in 50-yard breaststroke; Taylor Bean, eighth in 200-yard medley relay, eighth in 200-yard freestyle relay, 13th in 100-yard freestyle; Hayden Watts, eighth in 200-yard medley relay, eighth in 200-yard freestyle relay; Katie Kohlenberg, eighth in 200-yard medley relay, eighth in 200-yard freestyle relay.
Boys events:
