Funeral for Martha Turney, 72, of Somerville was Saturday, June 4, at 2 p.m. at Somerville Church of God with the Revs. Larry Carter and Pearl Jenkins officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing.
Burial was in Somerville Church of God Cemetery.
Mrs. Turney died Thursday, June 2, 2005, at Parkway Medical Center. She was born Aug. 11, 1932, in Morgan County to Marion Doris Johnson and Evelyn Maxwell Johnson. She was an active leader and member of Somerville Church of God for 42 years where she served in the Sunday school department and on various church committees. She was a school bus driver for the Morgan County Board of Education.
She is survived by her husband, Bobby Turney of Somerville; one son, Marty Turney of Madison; and two brothers, Lewis Johnson of Decatur and Russell Johnson of Somerville.
Pallbearers were Arlo Sharp, Ted Grantland, Noel Bailey, Gary Webster, Marshall Adams and Mark Shaneyfelt.
