Legg, Riggins exchange vows
Thresa Darlene Legg and Shannon DeWayne Riggins, both of Danville, were wed Feb. 19, 2005, at 2 p.m. at Shady Grove Baptist Church with Bro. Donnie McDonald officiating.
The bride is the daughter of Jerrie Kiel of Athens and the late Julis Legg.
The groom is the son of David and Debbie Riggins of Danville.
The church and altar were decorated with a 15-arch candelabra and two 15-candle spiral candelabras, a memory candle, unity candle, burgundy and white roses, greenery and baby's breath.
The bride, given in marriage by Dwight Legg, brother of the bride, wore a white dress featuring pearl and clear crystal sequin beading with a cathedral train featuring pearls and sequins at the hem.
She chose a full-length white, hemline veil featuring a headpiece of pearls and sequins. Her cascading bouquet featured burgundy and white rosebuds with ivy and baby's breath.
Angelia "Sissy" Legg of Huntsville, sister of the bride, was matron of honor. She wore a burgundy satin and chiffon floor-length gown and carried a bouquet of the bride's flowers.
Payton Boyd of Danville was the junior bride. She wore a floor-length white satin and chiffon gown and carried an arm-lay of the bride's flowers.
Garrett Legg of Danville, nephew of the bride, was ring bearer.
The groom's father was best man.
Candlelighters were Jason Frye of Hartselle and Jason Boyd of Danville.
Music was provided by Jason Knighten of Falkville.
Following the ceremony, a reception was held in the fellowship hall.
The bride's table featured a three-tier cake with a basket weave icing design, burgundy and white rose cascades and love doves.
The groom's table featured a cake shaped and decorated to replicate a pool table and billiard decorations.
Terri Owen was the wedding director. Paige Boyd was the reception director. Cherie Fuller and Angie Jackson assisted with the reception.
Shana Riggins of Danville, sister of the groom, attended the bride's book.
The couple honeymooned in Gatlinburg, Tenn. They reside in Punkin Center.
A rehearsal party hosted by the groom's parents was held Feb. 18 at Shady Grove Baptist Church.
