Funeral for Edward "Buddy" Augusta Poteet, 74, of Somerville will be Thursday (today), Feb. 10, at 2 p.m. at Roselawn Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Jimmy Legg and Cecil Berry officiating.
Burial will be in Friendship Cemetery.
Mr. Poteet died Monday, Feb. 7, 2005, at Decatur General Hospital. He was employed by Monsanto Corp. for 32 years. He was a farmer and a cattleman and a member of the Morgan County Cattlemen's Association. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict. He was a member of New Friendship Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Marjorie Poteet of Somerville; one son, Lyle Poteet and wife Tracy of Somerville; and one granddaughter, Caitlin Poteet of Somerville.
Pallbearers will be Ted Grantland, David Grantland, Robert Lovelady, Bobby Lewis, Don Poole and Ralph Atkins.
