Funeral for Birdie Maples, 92, of Decatur was Sunday, Jan. 30, at 2 p.m. at New Center Baptist Church, Hartselle, with the Rev. Jack Redfearn Jr. officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing.
Burial was in New Center Cemetery.
Mrs. Maples died Friday, Jan. 28, 2005, at Hartselle Medical Center. She was born Dec. 6, 1912, in Morgan County to Andrew Newt Ferguson and Eva Mary Lou Plemons Ferguson.
She was a homemaker and was a lifelong resident of Morgan County. She was a member of Southside Baptist Church in Decatur. She was preceded in death by her husband, Pat Maples.
She is survived by one son, Scotty Maples and wife Linda of Hartselle; one sister, Sylvia Watts of Decatur; two granddaughters, Jennifer Chandler and husband Jeff of Madison and Christy Williams and husband Shawn of Hartselle and four great-grandchildren, Grant and Austin Chandler and Madison and Nickolas Williams.
Pallbearers were Jeff Chandler, Shawn Williams, Horace Plemons, Harold Plemons, Dan Johnson and Dale Ferguson.
