1922-Jan. 13, Mary Lawson and husband A. J. of Hartselle Route 1 did considerable business in Hartselle today.
1914-Jan. 14, Oscar Wells, president of the First National Bank of Birmingham, and one of the most prominent bankers in the south, addressed the stockholders of the Hartselle First National Bank today at the close of the annual meeting. A. E. Jackson was re-elected president of the bank, T. R. Ryan, vice-president; G. E. Patterson, cashier, and G. C. Graves, assistant cashier. The directors elected were P. W. Barclift, J. B. Orr, J. E. Freeman, and G. E. Patterson.
1947-Jan. 15, E. L. "Boonie" Drinkard was the "Who Am I" speaker at today's Rotary Club meeting.
1949-Jan. 15, Stewart Brothers Motor Company will celebrate the occupancy of its new home on North Bee Line highway by holding open house a week from today.
1921-Jan. 16, A permit from the government to drill for oil in Morgan County has been received, persons interested in the local development announced today.
1950-Jan. 16, Floyd F. Anderson, manager of Joe Wheeler Electric Coop, will succeed Guy D. Roberts as president of the Hartselle Chamber of Commerce later this month.
1886-Jan. 17, Travel on the railroads seems to be increasing, judging from the heavily loaded coaches that pass through Hartselle on the L. &N.
1929-Jan. 17, The Bee Line highway between Hartselle and Birmingham is expected to be open over the entire route by April 1.
1991-Jan. 18, Philip Hines has been recognized for outstanding community service by both the Chamber of Commerce and Clean City Association.
1950-Jan. 19, The Highway Cafe is now open. Mr. and Mrs. G. W. Puckett and Mr. and Mrs. Harry Puckett operate it.
1954-Jan. 19, Mrs. Estelle Hunter Smith will serve as administratrix of the estate of the late D. W. Mcneill, one of Hartselle's most prominent businessmen for many years, who died suddenly last week.
