Funeral for Lane Baker, 75, of Eva, was Wednesday , Nov. 24, at 2 p.m. at Rock Creek Baptist Church with Elder Dan Hopper and the Rev. Tony Moses officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing.
Burial was in Rock Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.
Mr. Baker died Sunday, Nov. 21, 2004, at Crestwood Medical Center in Huntsville. He was born May 27, 1929, in Morgan County to Aro Perkins Baker and Lillymae Grace Hopper Baker. He was a member of Gum Pond Primitive Baptist Church. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean War. He was preceded in death by a brother, Tennis Baker.
He is survived by his wife, Gracie Baker of Eva; one son, Danny Baker of Eva; two daughters, Annette Mayes of Huntsville and Brenda Sutinen of New York; three stepdaughters, Tinia Mize and Toby Myrick, both of Woodstock and Tammy Keel of Tarrant; three brothers, Ross Baker of Huntsville, Arlon Baker of Orlando, Fla., and Eugene Baker of Huntsville; four sisters, Rose Puckett of Cullman, Averine Nix of Hartselle, Temple Aycock of Cullman and Vonda Richardson of Hartselle; 12 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Arlon Bvaker, Eugene Baker, Ross Baker, Rex Mayes, Charles Aycock, Roland Nix, Don Puckett and Jeff Mayes.
