Funeral for John Elgie Roy, 76, of Hartselle was Monday, Nov. 8, at 11 a.m. at Hartselle Heritage Funeral Home with the Revs. Patrick Franklin and Steven Smith officiating.
Burial was in Salem Cemetery.
Mr. Roy died Saturday, Nov. 6, 2004, at USA Decatur Health and Rehabilitation. He was born July 22, 1928, in Morgan County to Elbert Thomas Roy and Leona Wright Roy. He was a Methodist. He was preceded in death by a son, Mark Crawford Roy; a daughter, Janice Ann Roy Frye; and a brother, Artie Roy.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley Roy of Hartselle; two sons, David Roy and wife Mary, and Larry Roy and wife Marilyn, all of Falkville; a step-son, Keith Smith and wife Charlene of Hartselle; three step-daughters, Tina Robinson and husband Dale of Falkville, Sherry Parker and husband Dino, and Angelia Beavers and husband Mike of Hartselle; a sister, Estie Mae Beard of Hartselle; four grandchildren; five great grandchildren; 14 step-grandchildren; and one step-great grandchild.
Pallbearers were Charles Smith, Jason Frye, Dennis Ramey, Milton Smith, Rickey Joe Smith and Jamie Roy.
