Better late than never.
Priceville High School junior Dustin Hamilton was named to The Birmingham News All-State team back in May.
But, Hamilton didn't find out about the honor until last Tuesday.
Hamliton's baseball coach Shane Hopkins was told about the selection by a visitor at the school. Hopkins then searched The News web site and found out Hamilton had been selected. "My whole family is proud about this," Hamilton said.
Hamilton, who was a pitcher and right fielder for the Bulldogs, hit .434 last season. He drove in 29 runs and scored 35 as the Bulldogs advanced to the first round of the state playoffs.
Hamilton, who also recorded a 5-2 record on the mound, is hoping to pitch at the college level. "I'm think I'm a better pitcher than hitter," Hamilton said.
