Networking helps business

Susan Hines, Chamber Chatter
Did you realize that every time you give someone your opinion, tell them about your business, your church, a friends' business, or just sit on the porch and talk you are networking? Networking is a wonderful benefit!
If you are in business, it is a way of telling people the who, what, when and where about your business and that you want their business. It is also a way of finding new business contacts and people you can do business with. Networking is a way of forming new alliances and friendships. It is a way of growing your business.
Of course, there is the old saying that good news travels fast, but bad news travels faster, so be positive and good things will come your way.
Networking
Business After Hours – Spotlight your business and the Chamber does the work. We will send out the invitations to the membership, keep up with registration and attendance and have the Ambassadors act as hosts and hostesses for the event (small fee).
Annual Meeting – This meeting serves as a year-end revue of chamber events, accomplishments and updates. What a wonderful opportunity for you to spread the word about your business.
Business Referral System – On a daily basis, the chamber receives requests for recommendations on goods and services to be purchased in the Hartselle area. We refer these newcomers, tourists, area residents and businesses to our chamber members.
Committee Involvement- As a community leader you can get involved in the numerous diverse committees the chamber has formed to help solve problems, ranging from community needs to festivals, retail promotion, seminars, economic development, etc.
The chamber is a great business partner.
Small Business Information/ Support
Small Business Development – The chamber offers workshops and seminars that target business needs and management. We also offer free monthly small business counseling through the North East Regional Small Business Development Center in Huntsville.
Information – Where to go to get the appropriate license, contact names, phone numbers, and addresses.
Business/ Government Advocacy
Collective Voice – Benefit from the chamber's role as the collective voice of business when issues arise affecting doing business in the Hartselle area.
Economic Development – The chamber works with city and county officials to recruit new industry, retail business, service oriented businesses, restaurants, hotels, etc. to the area.
The Hartselle Area Chamber of Commerce offers its members the opportunity to be a part of a successful business network. An investment in the chamber is an investment in your success. Come join a winning team.
If you are interested in any of the above, would like to volunteer, become involved and would like information on joining the Hartselle Area Chamber of Commerce you may reach us at 773-4370 or via email at hartsell@hiwaay.net.
I encourage you to check out the website at www.hartsellechamber.com.
