20 under 40: Heather Drinkard

Heather Drinkard, 33

Director of Special Programs, The Housing Authority of the City of Hartselle

Born and raised in Hartselle, Heather Drinkard graduated from Hartselle High in 2008. Embarking on her professional journey in 2010, she found my passion in parks and recreation programming. Fast forward to 2023, and she has assumed the role of Director of Special Programs at The Housing Authority of the City of Hartselle, stationed at the Osborne Warren Oden Recreation Center (OWO).

In her capacity at OWO, Drinkard oversees the administration of affordable childcare services tailored for children aged 5-12, a vital offering especially during the summer months. Furthermore, she runs an enriching after-school program designed for students attending Hartselle City Schools. “At OWO, our commitment extends beyond mere programming; we take pride in serving as a valuable resource for parents and children alike in our vibrant community,” she said.

She is married to Cody and the two share one son, Scout, who is 3 years old.
