Brittany Powell, 38

Substitute teacher, Hartselle City Schools

Brittany Powell hails from a family of lifelong Hartselle residents. She is the daughter of Tony and Becky Watson and attended Hartselle City Schools and UAH. During her time at Peck Glasgow Insurance Agency, Powell became an ambassador with the Hartselle Area Chamber of Commerce in 2022. “In October 2023, I decided to pursue my lifelong dream and left my position at Peck-Glasgow to re-enter the field of education. I am currently working as a substitute teacher for Hartselle City Schools and Decatur Heritage Christian Academy while preparing to embark on a master’s program in Elementary Education at the University of West Alabama,” Watson said.

She is married to Cole, and they share Henry, their goldendoodle. Her hobbies include cheering for Alabama football and softball, soaking up the sun at the beach and cherishing moments with her family.
