Miles’ home run leads Tigers to victory

The Hartselle Tigers opened the 2024 Perfect Game High School Showdown in thrilling fashion with a 3-0 win over Winder-Barrow (Ga.) With the game tied 0-0 in the top of the fifth, senior Cade Miles hit a three-run home run on the first pitch of his at-bat, driving in Andrew Coleman and Brody Leathers.

Miles finished with two hits and three RBI to lead the Tigers. Peyton Steele had two hits, including a double. Jo Williamson, Lawson Williams and Coleman each had a hit, while Williamson and Cole Miles each had a stolen base.

Jace Meadows pitched a complete-game shutout to pick up the win, allowing six hits while striking out three. Only two Winder-Barrow (GA) runners reached second base.
