Hartselle soccer teams sweep Morgan County Tournament

Hartselle soccer dominated the Morgan County Tournament, with the Boys Varsity team (5-3) clinching their second-ever championship by defeating Austin 5-2. The Tigers cruised to the final with big wins over Danville (10-0) and Decatur (8-2). The Lady Tigers (7-1) secured victory with a narrow 5-4 win against Priceville, following commanding victories over Danville (11-2) and Austin (7-2). 

In the Boys division, Owen Bennech, MVP, led Hartselle with standout performances, including a hat trick against Danville. Luke Vinson’s four-goal haul against Decatur was instrumental in securing a spot in the final. Against Austin, the team showed resilience, with goals from various players ensuring victory. 

The Girls division saw Kaitlyn Dolbeer shine, scoring crucial goals including a hat trick against Austin. The championship match against Priceville ended in a thrilling penalty shootout, with Hartselle emerging victorious. Dolbeer’s stellar performance earned her the MVP title. 

Upcoming matches include Boys JV and Varsity games at home against Austin and Gardendale, while the Girls JV and Varsity teams face John Paul II at home before an away game at Buckhorn.
