Hartselle Jr. High girls cross-country takes first at Fairview Invitational

The Hartselle Jr. High girls cross-country team ran their way to a victory at the Fairview Invitational last weekend.

The team was led by Grace Goldman’s first-place finish and Claudia Burroughs’ second place. Goldman finished with a time of 11:52, while Burroughs came in at 13:40.

Other runners in the top 10 for the Jr. High Lady Tigers were Gabbi Goldman (14:18) and Lily Novosel (14:24).

Grace Goldman, an eighth grader, has finished first in four meets this season, while Burroughs has placed in the Top 10 in the three meets she ran.

“We are really excited to see what the team as a whole can do with Grace and Claudia leading the pack,” coach Sandy Schmidt said.
