Danville welcomes new business

A new business has opened its doors in Danville. The owners of Roots are Cody Hampton and Marissa Wimbs, and they are located at 5377 County Road 196 across from Piney Grove Church. They are open now from 3-6 p.m., however they live next door and will have fluctuating hours when they have another person to work in the mornings. Marissa says that the reason that they started the Farm business with natural and vegan foods was for Cody’s son who has PKU. PKU is an inherited disease in which the body cannot metabolize an amino acid called phenylalanine. Basically, he can’t have protein, so with Roots they offer natural foods.  They will also have cider and chocolates which are all natural and healthy. They have four children who also benefit from natural foods. Roots will have herbs, herbal teas, natural soaps, natural oil rubs for pain and arthritis, cleaning solutions, breads, homemade cinnamon rolls and pastries. Their fall garden will have greens, onions, and lots more. They will also have local honey and hair serums for hair loss and growth. They will also have a pumpkin patch which will be ready in October. Cody and Marissa are looking forward to serving the community. Marissa says that they will soon be having seating at Roots.

Cody says that he and Marissa met through their sons going to school together. They fell in love and had a little girl, and they also have 3 boys. Cody comes from five generations of farmers and gardening. Cody and Marissa and their three sons and little girl are enjoying running Roots as a family in their community. Everyone is welcome to Roots and enjoy good fresh foods plus lots more .
