Morgan County Sheriff’s Office announcement

The Morgan County Sheriff’s Office announces that 988 has been designated as the new three digit dialing code that will route callers to the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline. Other office numbers are 911 for emergencies and 211 for help accessing the following types of services such as food banks, clothing, shelters, rent assistance, utility assistance, government information, city, county and state services and programs. Anyone who plans to dig should call 811 or go to their state 811 centers website before digging to request that the approximate location of buried utilities be marked with paint or flags so that you don’t unintentionally dig into an underground utility line. 411 is a telephone number for local directory assistance in Canada and the United States.
