Tigers win Southern Coast Cup

The Hartselle Tigers (15-3-2) soccer team enjoyed their spring break trip to the gulf as they won the Southern Coast Cup. 

Hartselle 2, St. Luke’s 1 

Slate Gargus had the game-winning goal in the second shootout as the Hartselle boys’ soccer team picked up a 2-1 win over St. Luke’s. The Tigers outscored St. Luke’s 6-5 in the two shootout periods. 

Jack Adams scored in each of the shootout periods. Luke Vinson, Owen Bennich and Luke Minnon each scored a shootout goal. Tigers’ goalkeeper Nick Vaughn stopped five of 10 penalty kicks to help Hartselle get the win.  

Ethan Medendorp scored the Tigers’ only regulation goal.  

Hartselle 4, Brewbaker Tech 1 

Minnon scored two goals to lead Hartselle to a 4-1 over Brewbaker Tech. Vinson and Bennich each added a goal.  

Hartselle 2, Foley 1 

Adams and Gargus each scored one goal in the Tigers’ 2-1 victory over 7A Foley. 

Priceville 2, Madison County 0 

Landon Byer and Skylar Estes each had a goal in Priceville’s 2-0 win over Madison County. Priceville. 

Asher Beidleman had an assist for the Bulldogs, who improved to 2-2 in area play with the win. 

Girls 

Priceville 4, Madison Co. 0 

The Lady Bulldogs got goals from Lilyan Bloodworth, Anna Pilkington and Anna Katherine Hopkins, plus an own goal by Madison Co. to defeat the Lady Tigers 4-0.
