Boys Basketball: Brewer, Danville, Falkville fall in area tournaments

The seasons for Brewer, Danville and Falkville came to a close following first-round losses in their area tournaments.

Lawrence Co. 78, Brewer 64
The Patriots fell behind early in the game and couldn’t rally in their 78-64 loss to Lawrence Co. in the 5A Area 15 tournament at Russellville. Brewer trailed 44-23 at halftime.

Austyn Holmes finished with 26 points and seven steals to lead the Patriots. Mac Shadden added 16 points, six rebounds and four assists, while Kade George had 11 points and five rebounds.

Decatur Heritage 94, Falkville 84
The Blue Devils scored a season-high 84 points in their 2A Area 13 tournament loss to Decatur Heritage. Falkville trailed 51-37 at halftime.

Four players scored in double digits for Falkville, with Isaiah Warnick leading the way with 24 points. Dawson Fowler added 19 points, while Caden Burnett had 16 and Cayden Butler scored 10.

Danville’s season ended with a 51-39 loss to Phil Campbell in the 3A Area 15 tournament.
