Fletcher signs with UNA football

Hartselle senior Izayah Fletcher will continue his football career at the University of North Alabama in Florence. He signed his National Letter of Intent this past Wednesday in a signing ceremony at Hartselle High School.

Fletcher is the son of Zach Fletcher, who played for the University of Alabama.

Izayah finished his senior season with 71 receptions for 907 yards and six touchdowns. He had 174 receptions for 2,264 yards and 21 touchdowns in three years under head coach Bryan Moore.

“I am extremely proud of Izayah and his signing with UNA,” Moore said. “Coach Dearmon is getting a great young man with a great work ethic. His whole life has been built around his development as a person and football player. It’s been incredible to see his dream come true.”

The Lions, who finished 1-10 last season, will be led by new head coach Brent Dearmon. Dearmon comes to UNA after stints as offensive coordinator at Florida Atlantic and Middle Tennessee. He has also coached at Kansas, Bethel College, Arkansas Tech and Auburn.

Fletcher is one of 16 high school players that signed with UNA. He is one of nine players from Alabama.
