Recruiting notebook: Priceville’s Chaney signs with UT-Southern

Priceville senior Zach Chaney will continue his baseball career at the University of Tennessee Southern after signing with the Firehawks last week.

Chaney, a second baseman for the Bulldogs, hit .301 last season with 22 runs scored. He also had 17 RBIs and 10 doubles. He plays for coach Preston Potter.

The Firehawks compete in the NAIA in the Mid-South Conference. They are coached by Mitch Hill.

Hartselle’s Tidwell commits to Northwest-Shoals

Eli Tidwell announced his commitment to the Northwest-Shoals baseball program on Nov. 29.

Tidwell plays third base for the Tigers and coach William Booth. He helped lead Hartselle to the 6A State Championship this past season.

Stiles picks up first offer

Hartselle’s Brooklyn Stiles picked up her first offer after a visit to Wallace State in Hanceville. She plays outfield for coach Chris Reeves.
