Priceville advances to second volleyball state tournament in school history

The Priceville Lady Bulldogs punched their ticket to the state volleyball championships with a 3-1 finish at the North Super Regional in Huntsville this past week. They will be playing in their second state championships in school history.

The Lady Bulldogs defeated Ashville 3-0 (25-9, 25-15, 25-10) and Cleburne County 3-0 (25-10, 25-22, 25-18) on day one to clinch their trip to the state tournament.

On day two, Priceville defeated Madison County 3-1 in the semifinals before falling to Deshler 3-0 in the finals.

Priceville will be the North No. 2 seed and will open with South No. 3 Orange Beach at the Crossplex in Birmingham.

In other action
3A No. 3 Danville picked up a 3-0 win over Clements before falling to No. 2 Plainview in the second round to end their season.

5A No. 9 Brewer defeated Leeds 3-0 in the first round before dropping a 3-2 decision to Jasper in the second round.

Falkville lost to Altamont 3-2 in the first round of the 2A bracket to conclude their season.
