Hartselle finishes runner-up in HeffStrong Tournament silver bracket

The Hartselle Lady Tigers volleyball team finished second in the silver bracket at the HeffStrong Tournament in Hoover this past Saturday. 

Hartselle opened the tournament with two three-set losses to Homewood (25-23, 19-25, 16-14) and Bayside (25-11, 25-27, 15-9) before defeating Florence (25-10, 25-11) in pool play. 

In the silver bracket, the Lady Tigers defeated Hillcrest (25-9, 25-18), John Carroll (25-23, 25-20) and Daphne (22-25, 25-19, 16-14) to advance to the finals, where they lost to Pelham (25-18, 28-26). 

Earlier in the week, Hartselle swept Athens 3-0 and fell to Addison 3-1. 

Jadyn Chesser had 28 kills, 18 digs and seven aces to lead the Lady Tigers. Kennedy Sheats had 18 kills, 14 digs and two aces, while Lydia Simmons added 15 kills, four digs and two aces. Abby Morris finished with 15 digs.
