Booth honored by AHSAA

Hartselle baseball head coach William Booth was honored this past Friday night at the 26th annual AHSAA championship coaches banquet. The event closed out the 2022 AHSAA summer conference and all-star week.

Booth was one of 95 head coaches who led their teams to 114 state championships during the 2021-22 school year. This past school year was also the 100th year of the AHSAA as an organization.

Booth led his Tigers to a ninth state championship during his legendary tenure that started in 1988. Hartselle’s nine titles are tied for third all-time in AHSAA history. Booth is second all-time with nine state championships.

During Booth’s time at Hartselle, he has led his Tiger teams to more than 1,150 wins, which is the most in AHSAA history. In addition, he has had seven teams win more than 40 games in a season, including the 2009 team that owns the state record with 50 wins.
