Have you been united with Christ?

By Todd Barrier

I’ve heard so many conversations through the years from people who aren’t satisfied with their relationship with God. They want to grow, to feel connected, to live a better life. They keep going through the same cycle of bad decisions and just want to get it right. How does that happen? Unfortunately, most of us are holding on to things that keep us from God and letting go is the first step to being one with God. In Gal. 3:27 the Bible says “For as many of you as were baptized into Christ have put on Christ.”

When we put on Christ as His blood washes away our sins, we become one with Him. He takes the place of those worldly things that hold us back, at least that’s the way it should be. We have to be one with Him in all areas. How would Jesus react to our speech, actions, teachings, love (or lack of love) for others? When we are united together with Christ, we must work to be one with Him, and this will make our life so much better. Have you been united with Christ?
