Morgan County softball tournament begins Friday

This year’s Morgan County softball tournament gets started Friday morning at Wilson Morgan Park in Decatur.

Varsity games begin at 10 a.m. Friday.

Class 7A No. 4 Austin (26-5-1) and 6A No. 2 Hartselle (25-4-1) enter the tournament with the best records.

The nine county teams are divided into three pools. Hartselle, West Morgan, and Falkville are in Pool A. Decatur, Danville and Priceville make up Pool B. Austin, Brewer, and Decatur Heritage make up Pool C.

SCHEDULE

10 a.m.
Game 1: West Morgan vs. Hartselle, Field 1
Game 2: Danville vs. Decatur, Field 2
Game 3: Austin vs. Decatur Heritage, Field 3

11:30 a.m.
Game 4: Falkville vs. Hartselle, Field 1
Game 5: Priceville vs. Decatur, Field 2
Game 6: Brewer vs. Decatur Heritage, Field 3

1 p.m.
Game 7: Falkville vs. West Morgan, Field 1
Game 8: Priceville vs. Danville, Field 2
Game 9: Brewer vs. Austin, Field 3

Bracket play will begin at 9 a.m. Saturday. The championship game is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. on Field 4.

Austin is the defending champ after defeating West Morgan 3-1 in the championship game in 2021.
