Drug bust nabs five on Peach Orchard Road

Five people – four from Morgan County and one from Winston – are under arrest after an investigation this past week.

Feb. 10 the Morgan County Sheriff’s narcotics unit, criminal investigations division and Hartselle Police Department followed up on numerous complaints from the public at a home on Peach Orchard Road in Hartselle.

During the investigation, a search warrant was obtained. Law enforcement arrested five individuals in the home.

Brandy Nichole Houser, 39, of Hartselle was charged with tampering with physical evidence, possession of marijuana, second degree, possession of drug paraphernalia and loitering in a drug house. Houser’s bond was set at $1,200.

Chandler DeWayne Riggs, 22, of Houston was charged with possession of marijuana, second degree, and failure to appear on theft of property, first degree. No bond was set for Riggs.

Christopher Ryan McCulloch, 33, of Hartselle was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia. Bond was set at $300.

Mary Shane Morris, 30, of Hartselle was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia. Bond was set at $300.

John Anthony Chiaramonte, 39, of Decatur was charged with loitering in a drug house. Bond was set at $300.

According to the report, this was law enforcement’s ninth visit to this home since May 2021, with eight being drug related, including an overdose on Christmas Day.
