Nothing can separate us from God’s love

By Todd Barrier

In Romans 8:38-39 the Bible says, “For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

What a wonderful thought! When we tell people about Jesus, this might be one of the best ways to describe Him.

Nothing – that’s right, nothing. Jesus will allow nothing to take His love away from us.

The only thing that can separate us from the love of God is ourselves, when we deny His love.

All of the other things in this world can’t do it. Our past, others, our hang-ups and so on – none of that can separate God’s love from us!

That’s an easy sell to those who don’t know Jesus: You get something for nothing!
