Find peace through Jesus

By Todd Barrier

C.S. Lewis is quoted as saying, “Life without God is not immunity from difficulties but peace in difficulties.” What an awesome thought!

Sometimes we think of prayer or a relationship with God as sort of a “get out of jail free card.” You know, “If I become a Christian, all of life’s problems will go away, and I won’t have to face the difficulties of this world.”

Unfortunately, most of us have found out this just isn’t true. We will face hard times; that’s just part of life.

God never promises us a life free from difficulties; He promises us a reward of eternal life after our time on earth is done.

It’s described well in John 16:33: “These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.”

Jesus lets us know difficult times will come, but because of His sacrifice, we can have peace because of what eternity has waiting for us. What an awesome God!

Have you found peace, through Jesus, in life’s difficulties? If you haven’t and would like to know more, let me know – I’d be happy to tell you all about the peace of Jesus!
