Hartselle volleyball moves to 2-0 in Area play with win over Muscle Shoals

The 6A No. 8 Hartselle Lady Tigers volleyball team moved to 2-0 in area play with a 3-1 (25-16, 22-25, 25-18, 25-12) win over Muscle Shoals on Thursday.

Jadyn Chesser led the Lady Tigers with 10 kills and 10 digs, while Amber Holshouser had 38 assists and 5 digs. Alia Wright added 10 kills and KJ Jones finished with 16 digs.

The Lady Tigers traveled to Albertville on Saturday for the Albertville Invitational. They opened pool play with a 2-1 (19-25, 25-22, 15-9) win over Plainview and a 2-0 (25-14, 25-14) win over Pell City. However, in the semifinals, they lost to Donoho 2-1 (26-24, 14-25, 8-15).

Holshouser had 62 assists and 13 digs to lead Hartselle. Chesser finished with 24 kills and 19 digs. Wright had 17 kills, while Lydia Simmons added 13. Jones had 23 digs and Emma Parker added 15.
