Hartselle boys soccer wins 6A Area 14 and advances to state playoffs

The Hartselle Tigers soccer team won 6A Area 14 and will host a first-round playoff game on Thursday, April 22, at 6 pm.

The Tigers won 6A Area 14 despite dropping their final area game to Cullman 6-2. They received some help when Decatur defeated Cullman last Thursday 2-0 to drop the Bearcats into second place. 

Hartselle (17-5-1) will host Springville (10-7-1), who finished runner-up in Area 13.

Heading into the playoffs, Keegan Zanda leads the state and the nation in scoring with 116 points in 23 games played. He also leads in goals scored with 56.

Other Teams Advancing

Danville (13-1-2) boys won 1A-3A Region 7 and will host Tanner (16-4-1), who finished runner-up in Region 8. Danville is lead by Justin Hanline, who is 12th in the nation in scoring with 65 points. 

Danville (9-6-1) girls will advance to the playoffs. As of this time, their seeding has not been determined.

Priceville (13-4-0) girls won 4A-5A Area 13 and will host West Morgan (8-6-0) on Thursday, April 22 at 6 pm. The Lady Bulldogs are led by the trio of Anna Katherine Hopkins, Karli Wade, and Lillyan Bloodworth. They are 6, 7, and 8 in the 4A-5A in scoring.
