White, white everywhere

The days of cold weather, ice and snow can sure change our lifestyle and planned events.

I want to thank all of our law enforcement workers, Joe Wheeler employees and all of the volunteers who serve their communities, including our volunteer fire departments and also friends and neighbors, who helped by getting out their chainsaws to cut trees and limbs that fell across the roads because of the ice.

Brewer High School Activities

Brewer High School’s AP Physics 1 class had visitors from UAH’s senior design teamCharger Rocket Works, Feb. 9.

The visit included a presentation about the basics and history of rocketry, along with what the CRW does, some information on this year’s project design and opportunities at UAH. CRW concluded the visit with a water bottle rocket launcher, and Brewer students had the opportunity to participate in launching the rockets.

Congratulations go out this week to Brewer High School student Kelsi Lemmond for signing a softball scholarship with Bevill State. Congratulations to Falkville High School student Kameryn Scales

Congratulations go out this week to Kameryn Scales and her family. Kameryn signed a letter of intent to play softball at Southwest Tennessee Community College in Germantown, Tennessee. Good luck to Kameryn and her teammates in their senior season, and congratulations to Coach Meaghan Gray.
