FFA chapters announce fruit sales

The Danville High School FFA chapter and Brewer High School FFA chapter members are currently accepting fruit orders.

For Danville, the deadline to place your order will be Nov. 13. Please contact a Danville High School FFA student to place your order or call the adepartment at 256-773-9909. If there’s no answer, please leave message. The orders will be delivered to school in early December.

For Brewer, contact a Brewer High School FFA student or call 256-778-8634.

Shady Grove Baptist Church seeks donations for Operation Christmas Child

The members of Shady Grove Baptist Church are working on the Operation Christmas Child shoebox project. The new options for Operation Christmas Child shoeboxes are as follows:

  1. You may pick up empty boxes and labels at the church and fill with recommended gifts, along with a letter and picture if desired. Then just bring the filled and labeled boxes back to the church. Volunteers will deliver all of the boxes to the local dropoff location during collection week in November. There are a variety of donated items available at the church that may be used to help complete your boxes, if needed. If anyone would like to make a monetary donation, the church has a volunteer Christmas shoebox shopper who will purchase the items for you and assemble your box.
  2. The easy, fun and sociallydistanced option is to make a $25 donation and use the Build A Box tool online. Just follow this link and virtually choose items to fill your box or boxeshttps://build-a-shoeboxsamaritanspurse.org/view/995b043c-bc48-4253-ba0d-5d90ffa2129c

All donations will be greatly appreciated.
