Falkville Town Council sponsors Day Of Prayer

The Falkville Town Council sponsored the Day of Prayer May 7. Brother David Carroll from the Victory Fellowship Church and other area pastors participated on Facebook Live. The prayer was for local, state and federal government, police, first responders and the high school seniors.

Fairview–The Grace Place Church Activities

The members of Fairview–The Grace Place Church held their rescheduled Easter Egg Hunt outside the church from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. May the 17. Children from age 0 to fifth grade and children with special needs of all ages, and many parents, enjoyed attending the event.

There were thousands of eggs found, and then treats were provided free. The Easter Bunny was main attraction, along with inflatables, a petting zoo, a train ride, hay ride, games, snow cones, cotton candy and a hotdog lunch.

The church family and community members are grateful for Danielle Hayes’ dedication in coordinating the event.

Falkville Public Library Announcement

Jenny Asherbranner, librarian at the Falkville Public Library, is pleased to announce the library will open back up with complete service May 18, with its usual days and times. Everyone is urged to come and use the computers and check out books. The youth are invited to come and enjoy the Children’s Room, with wonderful books and fellowship reading together.

Area Churches enjoy Decoration Day activities

Mt. Zion Baptist Church members and visiting families met May 3 in the pavilion for their Memorial Decoration. Those attending enjoyed placing flowers on the graves during the morning and afternoon.

May 17 Mt. Zion Church members met in the pavilion for their regular worship service. Dr. Jerome Ward conducted a song service, and the Rev. Dr. Edwin Hayes delivered the message.

The Rev. Steven Cannon, pastor at Falkville First Baptist Church, conducted the Sunday morning worship service at 11 a.m. on the church’s Facebook page.

May 10 was the traditional Memorial Decoration Day for the Falkville City Cemetery. Ministers in the area gave tribute to those interred there.

May 3 Round Top Community Church Cemetery was decorated, and families could spread out in small groups in the Family Life Center.

Friendship Baptist Cemetery at Danville had families May 2-3

McKendree United Methodist Church Cemetery, Mt. Vernon Congregational Methodist, Johnson’s Chapel United Methodist and Herring Cemetery shared Mother’s Day memorials.

Andrew’s Chapel, Lebanon, Corinth West Methodist and Evergreen Cemetery had family groups attend at 10 a.m.
