Special to the Enquirer The Class of 2019 celebrates after its commencement ceremony at Brewer High School.

Morgan County Schools schedules commencement ceremonies

Seniors from the five county high schools in Morgan County will hold their rescheduled commencement ceremonies next week, Superintendent Bill Hopkins said.

Simultaneous ceremonies at Falkville, Brewer, Danville, Priceville and West Morgan high schools will be held May 18 at each school’s stadium and will begin at 7 p.m. Gates will open at 5 p.m.

Each high school will distribute a limited number of tickets for graduates’ families and guests. According to information provided by Morgan County Schools, this is necessary to ensure the total occupancy of each stadium does not exceed 50 percent, which is mandated by the current statewide order.

The schools will provide an area for families and guests of each student to sit together in one space. Those sections will be marked and separated by at least 6 feet from other groups. Guests are encouraged to wear masks and follow health recommendations for social distancing.

In the event of inclement weather, the ceremonies will be held at the same locations May 19.

For more information, parents and guests are encouraged to contact the individual high schools’ websites and social media sites.
