Hartselle’s Alli Parker is surrounded by family, friends and coaches after signing with Coastal Alabama to continue her volleyball career.  

Local student-athletes sign collegiate scholarships

Four local high school athletes signed college scholarships last week to continue their playing careers. 

HARTSELLE 

Alli Parker signed to play volleyball for Coastal Alabama in Bay Minette. She played for Coach Tanya Lybarger. She gave veteran leadership to a young Lady Tigers’ team that made it to the 6A state semi-finals and finished with a school-record 68 wins. She finished her high school career with 562 kills, 45 aces, 259 digs, 187 blocks and 43 assists. 

“Alli has always impressed me with her hard work. She continued to work and improve every year,” said Lybarger. “She was also a great senior leader on our team this year, and I am so excited to see her continue her volleyball career.” 

PRICEVILLE 

Madalynn Owen signed to play volleyball for Gadsden State. She set a new school record for digs in a season with 726. She played for Coach Catrina Mason. 

BREWER 

Outfielders Caitlyn Bryson and Hannah Buchanan signed softball scholarships. Bryson signed with Calhoun Community College, while Buchanan signed with Columbia State Community College in Columbia, Tenn. They were coached by Shana Bryson.
