Cartee & Marchbanks lead Hartselle to victory over Priceville

The duo of Masyn Marchbanks and Lillyanna Cartee combined for 39 points in Hartselle’s 55-44 victory over Priceville.

Marchbanks finished with a game-high 20 points and seven rebounds, while Cartee added 19 points, six rebounds, and three steals.

The Lady Tigers fell behind early as the Lady Bulldogs jumped out to a 12-9 lead after the first quarter. Hartselle would take a 27-22 lead going into halftime as they outscore Priceville 18-10 in the second quarter.

The Lady Bulldogs cut the Hartselle lead to 39-38 following the third quarter. The Lady Tigers defense held Priceville to just six points in the fourth quarter as Hartselle pulled away for the eleven point victory.

Hartselle (9-7) got seven points from Hailey Holshouser, all in the third quarter, that helped the Lady Tigers keep the lead.

Priceville (7-6) was led by Abigail Garrison, who finished with 15 points and nine rebounds, while Zoey Benson added seven points and seven rebounds.

Game Notes
Priceville’s Jenna Walker was recognized at halftime of the boy’s game for reaching two different milestones in the last three weeks. On December 3rd at Danville, she scored her 1,000th point. Ten days later, she picked up her 600th assist in a game at Decatur. Walker ranks 17th all-time in Alabama in total assists.
