Tiger Wrestling opens season at Hayden Thanksgiving Duals 

The Hartselle High School wrestling team opened its 2019-20 season at the Hayden Thanksgiving Duals last week. 

The Tigers finished 2-2 during the two-day event. They defeated Corner 39-34 and Hayden 45-36 while losing to Mortimer Jordan 45-36 and Jasper 58-21. 

Lincoln Bryant (120) and Brody Wade (160) finished the duals with 4-0 records. 

Payton Roberts (126) and Ethan England (132) picked up three wins each, while Gage Roberts (106), Nolen Willingham (152) and Karl England (170) notched two victories each. 

Junior High Tigers 

The Junior High Tigers finished third in the Huntsville Junior High Tournament Nov. 23. Twenty teams participated in the event, with Bob Jones finishing first and Scottsboro coming in second. 

Picking up class wins were Jacob Doshier (85), Gage Roberts (95), Lincoln Bryant (120), Payton Roberts (126), Caden McDonald (138) and Jonathon McClesky (205). Each finished undefeated in their class. 

Bryant’s victories all came by pins in the first period. 

Hartselle will participate in the Huntsville Invitational at Huntsville High School Friday and Saturday.
