Priceville traveled to Moulton on Monday Night looking to bounce back from Saturday night’s loss in the Morgan County Tournament’s Championship game.

Coach Terri Nelson was looking to see how her team would respond after disappointment.

She got the response she was expecting as the Lady Bulldogs jumped out to a 12-0 run to start the game.

Lawrence County cut the lead to 10 as the first quarter ended but were unable to get any closer as the Lady Bulldogs pulled away to win 59-40.

The Lady Bulldogs won their twentieth game of the year.  “We’re so excited to get number 20,” said Nelson. “This was one of our goals this year!”

Senior Kathleen Wheeler finished the game with 24 points, five rebounds, five steals, and four assists to lead Priceville. Skyler Benson added 14 points, eight rebounds, five steals, two assists, and two blocks while Jenna Walker contributed eight points, eight assists, four rebounds, and three steals.

“I am proud of how Kat, Skyler, and Jenna responded tonight. They all contributed in every possible way to lead the team,” said Nelson.

Priceville also got points from Abigail Garrison (4), Zoey Benson (3), Mauriene Clark (3), Brianna Marquette (2) and Olivia Gann (1) in the 19 point victory.

The Lady Bulldogs are scheduled to play at Falkville tonight and close out the regular season with Ardmore at home on Thursday night.

Lawrence County 68 Priceville 50

Priceville was looking to build on the momentum created by their play last week during the Morgan County Tournament.

Priceville led the game 33-30 at halftime. Lawrence County started the third quarter on a 20-0 run to take control of the game. During the run, Sebastian Terry scored 11 consecutive points.

Terry scored 15 of his 17 points in the second half as Lawrence County won 68-50. Three other Red Devil players scored in double-figures as Malik Strickland had 17, Tae Strickland added 12 and Ty Hutto had 11.

Tyon Jones scored a game-high 18 points to lead the Bulldogs (7-17) while Drayden Sullivan added eight points to go along with Seth Hood’s seven.

Priceville will look to get back on track tonight at Falkville.
