Piney Grove Christian Church Discipleship group holds meeting

Piney Grove Christian Church’s Discipleship group meets Wednesday nights in members’ homes in the Danville, Falkville and Tanner Heights areas. Jan. 2 the Bible study included II Corinthians and other scriptures used by pastor Aaron Warnick in his Sunday service.

The church youth group meets Wednesday nights to clean the church. The group receives $100, which is budgeted for cleanup.
Round Top Community Church Activities
The Round Top Community Church Youth Group conducted the morning worship service Dec. 30. Spencer Johnson directed the song segment, and pastor Pearl Jenkins led the prayer for those requested.

Everyone was inspired by the film on Corrie Ten Boom.
The fifth Sunday Singspiration was canceled because of the New Year’s weekend holiday. The next Singspiration will be March 31. The location will be announced at a later date.
Falkville Public Library Board holds meeting
Rhona Summerford presided at the Falkville Public Library Board called session Jan. 8 at 4:30 p.m. The members – Tina Rogers, Jane Hill, Kay Farrer and Pam MacDonald – discussed the children’s internet protection requirements.
The Board will have a regular meeting during the quarter. Children, youth and adult projects will be planned.
Jenny Asherbranner, librarian, urges area residents to come by and get books and use computers.
Corinth West Baptist Church News
The Men’s Club and the Women’s group at Corinth West Baptist Church enjoyed their monthly breakfast meeting Jan. 6 at 10 a.m. Christie Guthrie served the meal, and Jessie Emerson provided the beverages for the meal. Shanda Garner gave the devotional at the women’s session, and Dawn Shedd led the prayers for those requested. Plans were made for outreach and for a “Good Luck” Senior Citizens’ Day, which was held Jan. 15 at 11 a.m. They enjoyed a meal of traditional New Year’s food.
The committee includes Patricia Echols, GayNell Wilhite and Anita Reid. Felicia Cook did the Bingo games for the Senior Citizens’ Day.
Falkville Town Hall holds meeting
The Falkville Planning Commission met Jan. 7 at 5 p.m. Lance Stidham is the chairman. Planning Commission members are Mayor Ken Winkles, Ginny Owens,

Christy Hill, Dawn Estes, Vince Barrios, Patrick Holmes, Shane Bryan and David Carroll.
Mayor Ken Winkles and the Falkville Town Council met Jan. 7 at 4 p.m.Falkville First United Methodist Church Youth Meeting

The youth at Falkville First United Methodist Church met Jan. 9 at 6 p.m. in the fellowship hall. The counselors were the Rev. Bill and Billie Smith. The meal was held at 6 p.m., and everyone enjoyed the program by the Rev. Bill afterward. Those attending enjoyed recreation activities following the program.

Their next meeting will be Jan. 23.
