Jesus said, “In the world ye shall have tribulation,” John 16:33. Trials will come for everyone. 2 Corinthians 1:3-4 tells us, “Blessed be God even the father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the father of mercies and the God of all comfort; who comforteth us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God.” So often we think when God comforts us our trials will go away. But we must realize that if that were true we would only turn to him to be relieved of our pain and not out of love for Him. If you are feeling overwhelmed, allow God to comfort you with His strength, encouragement and hope to deal with your trials. Keep in mind that every trial that you encounter will help you comfort others who are going through similar trials. We can pass God’s comfort onto others.
