A memorial service celebrating the life of Ann Kimbrough Eyster, 92, will be Sun., Sept. 6, at 3 p.m. at First Bible Church with Dr. Steve Bateman officiating.
Burial will be a private family service.
Mrs. Eyster died Sept. 5, 2015, at her home surrounded by her family and friends that she loved and cherished. She faithfully served her family as the devoted wife of the late William Bibb Eyster, Sr. and was a loving mother, sister, and family member. She was born on July 8, 1923. She was the devoted wife of the late William Bibb Eyster for 47 years. A lifelong resident of Decatur, she lived a full and fascinating life. She had many and varied interests and accomplishments. She was an equestrian, golfer, pilot and, at one time, hosted a radio show called, “Ask Cynthia”. She attended Bradford Junior College in Boston, MA and graduated from the University of North Carolina. She was a member of the National Society of Colonial Dames. Ann attended First Bible Church and was a student of God’s Word, teaching the Tuesday Morning Bible Class for 30 years, where countless woman were encouraged to draw closer to God because of Ann’s desire and willingness to share God’s Word. A woman of faith and the heart of the Eyster family, Ann shaped her children and grandchildren’s spirituality by her witness of constant love and faith. She was preceded in death by her parents, William Evans and Ann Jones Kimbrough; and her sister, Irene Kimbrough Henderson.
She is survived by her two children, Katharine Eyster Doe (Weldon Williamson Doe III) and William Bibb Eyster, Jr. (Janet Dickinson Eyster); seven grandchildren, Caroline Doe Gilreath (Kyle), Jenny Doe Lipper (Byron), Rebecca Doe, Weldon Williamson Doe IV (Rebecca Lowther Doe), William Bibb Eyster III, Taylor Dickinson Eyster, Jonathan David Eyster, and one great-grandchild, Abigail Rebecca Doe; and sisters, Sally Kimbrough Holmes and Billie Kimbrough Brooks.
The family asks that, in lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to First Bible Church of Decatur 3202 Spring Avenue Southwest, Decatur, AL 35601. Hartselle Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family.
